The ‘Mayor and the Priest’ is a television series created by Christian Rauth and Daniel Rauth, based on the Italian ‘Don Camillo’ stories. Hugo Boski (Christian Rauth) is Mayor of Ville-Grand, and Erwan Vernoux (Daniel Rialet) the local priest. Although childhood friends, their respective responsibilities means they end up acting totally two-facedly. Hugo Boski will make any compromise, whilst his friend Erwan Vernoux will always use his position to achieve his goals. Between the disappearances, conflicts of personalities and mishaps, there's no let up for the local population, but the problems are always solved in the end. Since Erwan’s tragic and sudden disappearance in 2006, the parish has been run by Father Nicolas Janvier (Sébastien Knafo) who is trying to continue his predecessor’s work, but must make an ally out of the Mayor to achieve his goals.
