Javier Perianes explores the relationship between two musical giants of the last century, Manuel de Falla and Claude Debussy. A relationship born during the seven years that the Cadiz-born musician spent in Paris and which has continued ever since, notably through letters. We know the story of the postcard of La Puerta del Vino (Gate of Wine) that de Falla sent to the French musician and Debussy's reply: one of the preludes with which he would revolutionise piano writing. For de Falla, who was to write a funeral tribute to the death of his friend, learning from the Parisian was fundamental in shaping his music of Spanish essence; for Debussy, who had already evoked the nocturnal Granada in his Estampas, Spanish was always a reference. The concert was filmed in the oldest (1302) of the Alhambra palaces, the Palacio del Partal.
