The prestigious Ballet de l'Opéra National de Bordeaux (shaped by the personality of Marius Petipa in the 19th century) is one of France's leading companies. Don Quixote, a masterpiece of literature written by Cervantes in 1605, inspired the classical ballet choreographed by Marius Petipa in 1869
